On 11th August, the Director for the West and Central Division of the International Fund for Agricultural Development(IFAD), Nadine Gbossa paid a courtesy call on The Minister Of Food And Agriculture Ghana . IFAD is a specialized United Nations agency based in Rome that provides investment to the Agricultural sector of developing countries. During our meeting, we took stock of the collaboration between the Government of Ghana and IFAD. Both parties have accomplished a lot together especially with the Rural Enterprise Project that seeks to provide opportunities to the youth. The project has encouraged the youth to venture into Agribusiness. Again, we held discussions on strengthening the cooperation between Ghana and IFAD. Currently, we are working on a project in the Northern and Middle Belt of Ghana. The project is set out to engage vulnerable small holders in the high priority agricultural value chains in Ghana. The Government of Ghana's flagship programme Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) is key to IFAD and they are prepared to support small holders take advantage of increased opportunities arising from such policies. A few months ago, IFAD approved an emergency programme to sustain the production of small holders during the COVID-19 pandemic. IFAD is ready to step up and support Ghana in building a resilient and productive workforce of small holders.

La Directrice de la Division Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre du FIDA, Madame Nadine GBOSSA, a effectué le déplacement du siège FIDA à Rome pour sceller ce partenariat avec le Tchad, le Mali, la Mauritanie, le Burkina-Faso, le Niger et le Sénégal. D’une valeur de 85 milliards de Francs CFA, ce financement sera déployé pour la mise en œuvre du Programme conjoint régional sahel en réponse aux défis COVID 19, conflits et changement climatique.

Prélude au sommet du G5 Sahel, Madame Nadine GBOSSA est arrivée à N'Djamena pour apposer sa signature pour l'accord de financement du Projet de G5 Sahel.
